Bearly a diary

VIII XI MMXXVI

I have two friends, a couple, who are going to move to a new home in another part of the city on Sunday.

The husband’s time is completely taken up with work to provide for the family, and the wife’s time is completely taken up by their three children.

As soon as they broke the news to me, and knowing them for maybe more than five years now, I couldn’t shake this feeling that they’d struggle to get ready this week.

So, on my usual Tuesday trip to the grocery store today, I rented a car this time, went to DEPO, got 20 cardboard boxes and some tape, and brought it to them.

Guess what? They told me that they had been fighting that very moment, exactly because they couldn’t agree on how and when to get the boxes for moving.

God is always listening, even before we speak.

I’ll surprise them on Sunday by renting out a moving van. They have a large vehicle and all, but it’ll make it easier for them, especially the furniture.

Another fun thing that happened today is that I suddenly got a message on WhatsApp from a Latvian friend who was in Spain last week for the Adventist Youth Congress.

She and five of her friends decided to go on a road trip after the event, and drive through Portugal from “north to south”. I added the quotation marks there because they passed through Seville, but I couldn’t convince them to drive by my home, the Algarve, which was so much closer to them than Lisbon. They drove all the way around to the capital to then only continue northward.

Either way, she asked me what I think they should do and see. I asked whether they wanted to see the sights, visit historic places, eat good food, or explore the nature. Her friends wanted to swim and see the sights. I recommended them Costa da Caparica and Cristo Rei, since they were determined to drive through Lisbon, and they actually went there! She even sent me a video of each place.

Fun times!
